Basketball Heritage Project, Inc. Celebrates its Tenth Anniversary

Ten years ago, on April 16, 2011, an Historic Marker was erected near the intersection of West Main and South Washington Streets in Crawfordsville. The marker was dedicated to preserve and promote the rich basketball heritage of Crawfordsville and Montgomery County, IN. It was funded by the Basketball Heritage Project (BHP) and the Montgomery County Basketball Hall of Fame.

In addition to the marker, there is a collection of basketball memorabilia from Crawfordsville High School, the 14 Montgomery County Schools that existed until 1971 when the county schools were consolidated, North Montgomery High School and Southmont High School, and Wabash College in the storefront windows of the PRKD Building at 103 East Main Street. There also are displays of basketball memorabilia at the Carnegie Museum on South Washington Street and at Fusion 54 at the corner of West Main and Washington Streets.

The Basketball Heritage Project (BHP) invites you to visit all of these displays as well as the BHP website at bhpinc.org. BHP welcomes donations to help promote and expand the rich history of Crawfordsville and Montgomery County basketball. Donations can be mailed to: BHP, P.O. Box 349, Crawfordsville, IN 47933.
