Clary hits 1,000 points as Chargers fall to No. 6 Warriors

LINDEN — North Montgomery senior Justin Clary scored 17 of his 19 points in the first half, and joined the program’s 1,000-point club on a 3-pointer with 16 seconds left in the second quarter. He’s just the fifth boys basketball player from North Montgomery to reach the milestone.

It didn’t take long for Danville to take control, using a quick start to build an early lead in an 84-47 victory over North Montgomery in the final Sagamore Conference game of the year for both teams on Tuesday.

After moving up a spot this week in th AP Top 10 poll, the Class 3A sixth-ranked Warriors (16-4, 6-1 SAC) jumped out to an 18-3 lead on the Chargers (7-14, 0-7) and never trailed in a game that was originally scheduled for last month but postponed due to inclement weather.
