Crawfordsville girls get win

MARSHALL — Crawfordsville used big second and third quarters to take control in a 64-45 victory over Turkey Run on Tuesday.

Lauren Kellerman finished 11-for-13 from the free throw line and scored 19 of her 28 points in the second half to lead the Athenians.

Crawfordsville outscored Turkey Run 13-4 in the second quarter to take a 24-16 lead at halftime, then outscored the Warriors 24-6 in the third quarter to put the game away.

Addie Laskowski was 3-of-4 from the free throw line and finished with 13 points. Zoe Walbert scored six points while Isabel Viveros and Melia Tomlinson each added four points.

The Athenians improve to 2-2 on the year while handing Turkey Run its fourth straight loss.

Crawfordsville will face North Montgomery at 6 p.m. Friday in the first round of the Sugar Creek Classic at Western Boone. Southmont and Western Boone play in the second game at 7:30 p.m.

The consolation game will be played at 6 p.m. Saturday with the championship game at 7:30 p.m.
