
NEW MARKET — Southmont’s girls basketball team picked up their first Sagamore Conference win with a convincing 69-34 defeat of Frankfort.
The Mounties jumped out early in the game with a 20-point first quarter, and finished with a 20-point fourth in running their record to 10-9 on the season and 1-4 in the conference while the Hot Dogs fall to 2-19 and 0-6 in the loop.
Reagan Case led the Mounties in scoring with 22 points. The senior guard also hit all four of South’s 3-pointers. Kasey Burton tallied another double-double, with 12 points and 13 rebounds. The senior added four steals. Marlowe McVay added a double-double of her own, with a dozen points and 10 boards.
The Mounties travel to Crawfordsville to take on the Athenians Saturday.
