Seeger's defense stops Southmont with 41-26 win
WILLIAMSPORT — Southmont’s girls’ basketball team saw its seven-game winning streak come to an abrupt halt as Seeger handed the Mounties a 41-26 loss Wednesday night as part of a make-up girls/boys doubleheader’s.
The Mounties entered the game with its longest winning streak in since it posts a nine-game win streak early in the 2004-05 season. However, the Patriots’ defense was too much for the Mounties to figure out.

Mounties win in OT, again
WILLIAMSPORT — Southmont’s boys basketball team went into overtime for the third time in its last four games before pulling out a 46-40 win over Seeger Wednesday night in a makeup game.
Coming off a thrilling overtime win over Crawfordsville on Saturday, the Mounties had the ball with the score tied at 38 but failed to get a shot off in the final 18 seconds to send the game into overtime.

Trio of doubleheaders set for Friday
For the first and only time this season, all six Montgomery County basketball teams will hit the floor on a single Friday night. Crawfordsville will host Frankfort, North Montgomery will welcome Western Boone, and Southmont will host Lebanon.

Montgomery County Remembers: Girls Sectional History
It’s hard to believe it’s that time of year again but Sunday was the IHSAA drawing for the Girls State Basketball Tournament.
To be honest the postseason has not been the best of times for the three county teams, especially in the past decade. In fact, despite playing in two different classes and two different sectionals some years the county was able to only come up with one sectional title – that coming in 2014 when Southmont won its eighth overall title.

All four local girls’ basketball teams learned their match-ups for the Indiana High School Athletic Association state tournament that begins next week.

NEW MARKET — It was sweet, sweet revenge for Southmont boys’ basketball on Saturday night.
Just 15 days removed from a 84-43 blowout loss to Crawfordsville, the Mounties overcame a six-point deficit in the fourth quarter to top the Athenians 58-56 in overtime, and clinch the county title.
“We were really embarrassed from the first time we played them, and we were really angry,” Southmont coach Jake Turner said. “We wanted to play with a chip on our shoulders, and take it
